Tourism players promote JK as all-season destination at ITM Chandigarh

                CHANDIGARH, MARCH 3: J&K Tourism officials pitched for projecting J&K as all season tourism destinations at 3-day India Travel Mart (ITM) being held here.

“Keeping in view the rich cultural diversity which three regions of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh offer, the state is a tourist attraction round the year,” JK Tourism officials said.

Mr Anurag Aggarwal, Secretary Tourism Chandigarh Industrial Tourism Corporation inaugurated the India Travel Mart (ITM). The event is being held from 3^rd March to 5^th March here.

The JK Tourism officials said that the aim behind participation in the mart is to showcase the diversified products of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh so that people of Chandigarh and its adjoining areas know that Jammu & Kashmir has right infrastructure in place to cater the products like leisure, adventure, pilgrimage, border, golf & MICE Tourism among others.

A delegation of officers from Directorate of Tourism, J&K Tourism Development Corporation & representative of travel trade industry are participating in the mart to promote different destinations of the state.

          Large number of visitors and guests who visited J&K Pavilion  evinced keen interest and enquired about the most sought after destinations known for leisure, pilgrimage, adventure and border tourism like Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg, Yousmarg, Patnitop, Sanasar, Mansar, Bhaderwah, Shri  Mata Vaishno Devi ji Katra, & Ladakh.

The tourism official delegation also highlighted the lesser known and upcoming destinations like Verinag, Aharbal, Mantalai, Rajouri, Surinsar, Suchetgarh, Shahdra Sharief Shrine, Peer ki Gali, Kargil and upcoming Shri Amar Nath ji Yatra.

During the day, short duration documentaries on tourism products were shown to the visitors. Brochures, flyers, & other publicity material highlighting the different destinations of the state were also distributed among the visitors.

J&K Tourism Development Corporation offered special packages & discount for corporate properties to the tourists visiting state during the Mart. The Tourism officials also asked the exhibiters to include Convention Center of Pahalgam, Srinagar Jammu and Patnitop in their itineraries and packages for the upcoming tourist season.
